Dr. Joseph E. Dotson, originally from Vienna, West Virginia, earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 1979 and his D.D.S. from West Virginia University in 1983. A proud Mountaineer, Dr. Dotson continues to support his alma mater.

After moving to Tampa in 1983, Dr. Dotson has over 40 years of dental experience. He is happy to be a part of the Tampa Bay Smile Makers team, where he provides patient-centered care in a collaborative environment, ensuring every patient has a positive and comfortable experience.

Dr. Dotson is an active member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, West Coast Dental Association, Hillsborough County Dental Association, Pierre Fauchard Academy, and is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists.

Outside of dentistry, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Kathy, his son Jared and his wife Sarah, and his daughter Mallory. When not providing excellent dental care to his patients, Dr. Dotson enjoys spending time with his family and dog Paisley, golfing, playing basketball and working on landscaping ideas in the yard.
